As an important member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the American Red Cross mobilizes and educates communities within the United States as well as worldwide to overcome life-threatening vulnerabilities . The main areas of focus for the American Red Cross International Services are global health, restoring family links during times of war, disaster preparedness and response, and International Humanitarian Law (IHL) dissemination.
