Join the 10,000 is a Nashville Area Red Cross campaign to make Middle Tennessee the SAFEST and MOST PREPARED region in the nation.

Disaster can strike at a moment’s notice…

Middle Tennessee is vulnerable to a number of disaster threats including:

  • Tornadoes
  • Flood (Wolf Creek Dam)
  • Earthquakes (New Madrid Fault Line)
  • Chemical spills
  • Terrorist attacks
  • Pandemic

The Goal

The Nashville Area Red Cross seeks to train a reserve corps of 10,000 volunteers NOW so that Middle Tennessee is prepared when disaster strikes.

Disaster Response Areas for Training

Volunteers are trained in one or more of the eight disaster response functions listed below:

  • Individual Client Services
  • Mass Care
  • Partner Services
  • Damage Assessment and Financial Reporting
  • Logistics
  • Volunteer Staffing Services
  • Fundraising and Communications
  • Technology
